We are happy to announce that a new Energy Anthropology Network will be officially launched during this conference. The Network will be affiliated with the European Association of Social Anthropologists. Membership as well as the Network’s workshops will be open to all conference participants.
The Energy Anthropology Network (EAN) aims to consolidate current anthropological research on energy and to encourage public outreach. The network is open to people coming from a variety of backgrounds: ranging from practitioners and decision-makers interested in broadening their understanding of energy, to students and academics involved in applied projects as well as fundamental research. The network’s activities include regular meetings at academic events (EASA essentially), online exchange, publications and newsfeeds (mailing list, webpage). The EAN also supports initiatives to export energy anthropology concerns outside the academic sphere, whether this is through community projects, media interventions or institutional engagements.
